Sam's finally set up with a room of his own, as he and the Bar managed to have their heads on right at the same time. He's not well yet, so Cata's still... well, all right, she's worried.
(She doesn't do it often, but this is Sam. She thinks she's allowed that luxury, given how few friends she has.)
Tonight, she's at a table, people-watching (and watching for one or two in particular). If she doesn't see the Medic, she'll leave what she's got for him with the Bar.

It took a lot of last-minute work, but Alyx managed to get Christmas presents ready for everyone. Granted, the bulk of those are hand-made Christmas cards rather than actual gifts, but still. They're all stacked on the bartop next to her as she sips a cup of cocoa and looks around for the future recipients of said gifts.

(It doesn't occur to Alyx to leave any of the packages with Bar. Christmas gifts, as far as she's concerned, are something to be delivered in person.)

[Open forever.]

"Ooh," says the costumed superhero nervously as he stares at Bar. "Are you sure? I'm not sure about this. Well, if you're sure..."

Man, all Spidey wanted was coffee.

But poor Peter Parker's part-time (say that five times fast) teaching job won't exactly pay off all the coffee and burgers and last-minute Chinese takeout from the last few months. A bartending shift it is.

Neat chalk writing on the specials boards reads:

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Peppermint Hot Chocolate
Eggnog (rum optional)

--and has an arrow pointing to a bottle of bright green liquor he can't identify. Uh ... that one's for the brave folk only.

One Spider-Man standing behind the Bar, then, with an empty mug and a fidgety air to show that he coffeed himself up already.

"Get your amazing, spectacular drinks right here! Management cannot guarantee amazingness or, indeed, spectacularity of any beverages served."

(Spectacularity is totally a word.)

[ ooc: no idea how long i'll be up, but feel free to threadhop with whoever's around! and slowtimed all weekend. ]

Merry Christmas from Norway, and Happy Birthday to any of you who, like me, happen to share a birthday with the holiday.

That said there are presents from Thirteen at the Bar for friends of hers:

Coreen gets a set of paints and brushes, along with a written promise to sit still for her for a while, if she so wishes.

Squirrel gets a kilt, with a note explaining that now he won´t have to steal Coreen´s clothes again.

Edie will find a book of self-defense for women. It´s a joke, of course.

Tony, a large poster of Sophia Loren for his room in Milliways.

Sunshine gets a large book titled "The Complete Book of Baking"

Scarlet, Dot and Guppy will find a bottle of Glayva liquor.

There are also three build-a-bear bears waiting for Evan, Alex and Mairi.

[oom: The Sandhu family celebrate their first proper Christmas, with burnt lunch, a broken tree, but no major incidents, hospitals or deaths.]

Around lunch time, the bar gets set up for the Life Support Holiday Party.

Lonely? Bored? Hungry? Come join the fun!

[ooc: Party behind link, have at! Open indefinitely.]

Needy isn't expecting any kind of a Christmas this year, so when her bathroom door opens onto Milliways (luckily from the bathroom side, so the first thing does is not look for a toilet), she walks through with a veritable spring in her step and happy smile. She's wearing the hat and scarf set given to her by Penny, and although she takes off the hat and stuff it half-into a jeans pocket, she keeps the scarf loosely slung over her shoulders.. it's been her only Christmas present and she expects it will be her only Christmas present, so she's keeping it on. Even if it does clash with her jacket.

She takes a seat curled up in a big chair by the fire with a double-pump caramel latte, and kicks off her shoes to toast her toes. This is much better than a skeezy motel room and a ready-meal.

Sunshine doesn't have backroom access, so am using my other pup journal to post for her.

The baker of the mostly-sunny disposition has left presents with the Bar for her friends/people she's come to think of as more than customers. They're all baskets of various baked desserts and breads, with blue decorative paper with yellow sunbursts on it. The ratio between sweet and non-sweet baked goods is pretty balanced, unless otherwise noted.

Giftees include but are not limited to (since I'm in a bit of a rush and might forget someone):

Teja (mostly savory loaves, but with some sweet things)
Donovan
Jason Schyuler
Elizabeth
Ned
Bobby Drake
Axel
Thirteen
Duck
Demeter
(mostly bread-based baked goods, rather than anything overly-chocolatey)
Sirona
Sameth
Akito and Agito
Jane Austen
(mostly centered around chocolate)
Ben Wade (everything's sweet. ^__^)

Nikola Tesla gets a single, 12-serving pan of Bitter Chocolate Death. Sometimes, even death can be a veiled peace-offering. :D

I may have forgotten some people, alas. But I am in a hurry. We are running away to the forest for a few days. ^__^ Love to you all!

P.S.: And friends of Yrael will be getting their presents next time he sees them. <3333

Tim's left some gifts for Mike, Mel, and Ellen. Since he can't talk himself into spending any money lately, he's gone through some of his own possessions and given them to people he thinks would appreciate them.

So Captain Jack has been... here.

For quite a while, actually, and he's talked to a few old friends. Found even more missing. And in general, things have... not happened. For the first couple of weeks that was a relief, because if there's anything Torchwood attracts, it's constant events* - but then it began to nag at him, because he knows damn well why he's in stasis. The constant presence of the door that used to vanish at will is something of a clue.

He once told a friend that he was better off as a coward.

That wasn't strictly true because, you know, he still is, and yet still things keep getting worse. But he was chasing the Doctor, and he's been doing that for so long... giving up now would just be dumb.

When he finally opens it (it takes him a while. Coward, remember?) there is nothing beyond the door, just a yawning and innocent-looking blackness. Jack stares out at it for a while, looks back over his shoulder, and steps through. The door slams shut behind him.

Nothing dramatic happens.

...Here.

Merry Christmas, Jack!

* And attractive, loose-moralled life-forms, but Jack doesn't mind that part.

There are several packages left at the bar from Tim, this morning.

Mike )

Melaka )

Ellen )

Each recipient may notice that nothing is actually new (though, it is all in VERY good nick). With the baby on the way, Tim's finding it hard to spend money on anything. But he's sure everyone will understand.

My creativity is in a low, low level, so I am trying to save it; that said, the friends and acquaintances of all my pups get presents as follows.

The Devil )

Jordan Kennedy: Bobby Drake (a sweater, a 200Gb MP3 player), Ken Watanabe (a half dozen anime DVD's and manga books he is likely to not have), Val Von Doom (the second hoverbike in the garage, ping me for details), Guppy Sandhu (a 'gift certificate' of 200 dollars, with a note 'could not think of a gift, sorry'), Zhaan (an assortment of seeds, another assortment of teas, three 'free cybernetic limb replacement' vouchers for her to use as she sees fit).

Ryu Hayabusa: small curious and yummi snack gifts, teas and such, for his students and casual friends. Teja will get a daisho made by the master Muramasa himself. Mallory and Family will be treated to a special dinner (in their world) unless they have other plans, in which case, Mallory will be treated to an extra special dinner and gifts will be given to all in either case.

[OOM: Gus and Jordan get the ball rolling on their plans for world domination making some "easy" cash.

The plan gets off to a fairly decent start, until it completely dissolves.]
(Warnings for adult content in the first link. Nothing but a couple of crazy nutters in the second. And crime. Lots of crime. Millitimed to span the last week or so.)

Gus is over by the fire place, staring at nothing in particular. Despite the intentionally relaxing atmosphere, it's not hard to see that he's a bit highstrung right now -- moreso than usual, that is. And that's saying a lot, considering his recent state of mind.

And as though being pissed off about everything going completely pear-shaped isn't bad enough, he's starting to feel like he's getting a head cold. Great.

Posting from Sariel's journal as I can't be bothered to switch over. Oh well. XD

There are gifts left with Bar for Will Scarlett and Kate Bishop, Tanya Adams, Dale Harding, River Tam, Yrael, Captain Kirk and Demeter. If there's an IC tree, feel free and say your present ended up underneath it - that's utterly cool with me.

*hugs folks, scampers back to holidayness*

24 December 2009 @ 09:34 pm
Sariel doesn't have a door now.

She did a few days ago, however. This means two things: One, she's entirely over whatever strain of hallucinatry flu knocked her flat, and two, she's been able to spend a week or so entirely in her own universe. It's closing in on Christmas on the Enterprise too, along with several other holidays, only some of which are winter-related. It's a good job the small armful of presents she was carrying when she entered were intended for people in Milliways; she might have been rather stuck, otherwise. At least this time, she was inadvertently prepared for a bar ambush. Before she does much else, not counting giving the front wall a mildly exasperated look, Sariel drops off that armful of parcels with Bar, leaning to murmur something to the wood as she does so.

Will and Kate )

Demeter )

River )

Harding )

Yrael )

Tanya )

Captain Kirk )

Once that's done, she settles in near the fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate rather than tea--gasp! She can handle having no door for another few days. It'll still be Christmas aboard ship when the way home rematerializes, after all.

((OOC: Open forever and ever, but slowtime is inevitable as holidayness carries me off.))
